The law changes and pages go stale

Every guide shows the date its sources were last checked. Statutes are amended, courts issue opinions, and a page that was accurate when written can become wrong without anything on it changing. Check the date, and confirm anything you intend to rely on against the current statute.

This site addresses Minnesota law. If you work somewhere else, or your employer is governed by a different state's law, different rules very likely apply. Federal law is described only where it sits alongside the Minnesota rule.
